Medium format color negative, 35mm black & white, and digital

Day One | Welcome dinner: Abbaye de Salaz

In the heart of the enchanting Swiss mountain landscapes, Anna and Andrew’s story unfolded. Their destination wedding was a symphony of emotions and picturesque beauty, carefully orchestrated to create a timeless and unforgettable experience for every cherished guest.

The festivities began with a memorable rehearsal dinner and welcome party at the historic Abbaye de Salaz, which was established by the monks of St. Maurice in 1000. Nestled amidst the picturesque Swiss countryside, the Abbaye provided the perfect ambiance for friends and family to come together in celebration. In her summers as a teen, Anna had picked grapes for the vineyard, so this location was very dear to her heart. The air was filled with anticipation and excitement as guests mingled, sharing stories, drinking red, white, and elderberry wine, and laughing underneath the twinkling stars.

Once all the guests left we snuck away for a few portraits (notice andrew already wearing his wedding band he was just so excited)

Day Two | Ceremony + Celebration: Castle de Aigle

As the sun rose on the big day, Anna and Andrew's decision to get ready together set the tone for the intimate and personal nature of their celebration. Surrounded by their friends and family, the couple shared quiet moments of reflection, excitement, and joy. This choice beautifully symbolized their journey towards a shared future, highlighting their deep connection and commitment to one another.

The grandeur of the occasion was matched only by the stunning setting chosen for the main events. The Castle de Aigle provided a majestic backdrop for both the wedding ceremony and reception. Perched majestically amidst the Swiss countryside, Aigle Castle stands as a testament to centuries of history and architectural brilliance. With its origins dating back to the 12th century, this iconic fortress has witnessed the ebb and flow of time, bearing witness to the stories of generations past. Its historic significance is rooted in its role as a medieval stronghold, a strategic watchtower, and a noble residence throughout various epochs. The couple chose to get married in the castle’s courtyard, exchanging vows against the backdrop of the Swiss Alps. There wasn't a dry eye in sight.

Amidst the rolling vineyards that surround the Aigle Castle, we captured Anna and Andrew’s portraits through both medium format film and digital photography. We wandered through the many rows of the vineyard below, gazing up and the ornate castle as Anna carried a bouquet of local handpicked flowers.

The Castle's ornate halls were adorned with elegant decorations that perfectly complemented the natural beauty of the surroundings. Guests reveled in the celebration, dancing and toasting to the newlyweds as they embarked on this new chapter of their lives.
