Soleil Levant is the project of Jacob & Annalee, partners and wedding photographers based out of New England. Simply put, we became wedding photographers because we fell in love with the authenticity of the day, the excitement and planning process, and all of the unexpected happy moments that come along with a wedding day. On the wedding day, we focus on a photojournalistic style to capture the candid, sentimental moments that make every wedding unique. We work with digital, and medium format film to get the best of both worlds—unfaltering high-res precision and the beautiful colors and textures of analog photography. Through our approach, we always aim to plan our photography of the wedding day in a way that doesn’t detract from the experience and allows our clients to stay in the moment and truly enjoy their wedding. After all, the photos will only be as meaningful as the beautiful day they reflect.

Hi! I’m a French-American photographer based in Boston, Massachusetts. Using digital photography as well as 35mm and medium format film, I’m always looking for new ways to create beauty through my images. I shot my first wedding at 14, and 10 years later I’ve grown to love the responsibility and honor of capturing one of the most important days in someone’s life.
Finding ways to keep each part of the day running smoothly while also factoring in the visual aspects of location, lighting, and color keep each wedding day a fresh, exciting challenge for me. I studied cinematography in film school, and I’m always thinking about how to translate the elements of lighting and composition to a wedding context to create an effortless, timeless style. Several years spent shooting for local newspapers and magazines also taught me to think like a photojournalist, and the importance of never missing a moment. Distilling all the excitement, whirlwind of emotions, and small moments each wedding represents into a cohesive set of images is a rewarding and exciting challenge each time.
When not behind the camera, I enjoy backpacking in nature, playing the guitar and piano, and traveling to new places.

I love teaming up with couples to plan timelines, answer all the questions, and share my experiences. My aim is to become more than just your photographer—I want to be a true friend!
Every wedding is unique, and I cherish the special moments and the privilege of watching each love story unfold. I adore being part of your celebration and all the emotions that come with it. I’m also a pro at organizing people (details are my thing—I make sure there are no sunglasses, phones in pockets, etc.), and solving any issues on the fly. My goal is always to help each couple stay present and soak up all the feels of their big day. And, full disclosure: don’t be surprised if you see me tearing up at some point during your wedding!
